The short Pakistani winter rewards sellers who time it right. Which cities to target, five winter products with real costs and margins, and how to test before demand drops.

Winter in Pakistan is short, uneven and very profitable if you time it right. Lahore and Islamabad get cold enough to change what people buy, Quetta and the north get properly freezing, and Karachi barely notices. Here is what is selling this season, the real numbers behind some of it, and how to avoid the classic winter mistake: stock arriving in February.
Pakistan’s winter selling season is short, roughly November to February, and strongest in the colder northern cities. Heaters, warm accessories, hot-water and car-comfort products sell best. Test early in the season with COD orders confirmed by phone, and stop buying stock before demand drops.
Winter products do not sell evenly from November to February. In our experience the curve looks like this:
So the real selling window for most winter products is about eight to ten weeks. That changes how you test: there is no time for a slow, two-month experiment. You either find a winning ad in the first two weeks of the season or you move on.
A heater ad shown to Karachi is wasted money. Most ad platforms let you choose cities or regions. For cold-weather products, start with Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Multan, Quetta and the northern districts. Add Karachi and Hyderabad only for products that are about winter skin, gifting or general comfort rather than real cold.
The table uses supplier prices currently listed on our product pages, a typical Rs 250 courier charge and the selling price we suggest. “Left before ads” is what remains to pay for advertising, returns and your profit. It is not your profit.
| Product | Supplier cost | Suggested price | Left before ads | Why it sells in winter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Instant hot water tap | Rs 2,899 | Rs 5,999 | about Rs 2,850 | Warm water for dishes and wudu without waiting for the geyser |
| Mini fan heater | Rs 1,525 | Rs 3,499 | about Rs 1,720 | Desk and bedside warmth where gas pressure is low |
| 12V heated car mug | Rs 2,065 | Rs 4,499 | about Rs 2,180 | Hot tea on cold morning drives; strong gift |
| Electric foot file | Rs 750 + Rs 220 delivery | Rs 2,619 | about Rs 1,650 | Dry, cracked heels get worse in winter |
| Hair oil scalp comb | Rs 853 | Rs 1,999 | about Rs 900 | Hair oiling increases in dry weather; cheap impulse buy |
Notice the pattern. The products with the most room before ads are higher-priced items that solve a real winter problem. The comb is fine, but with only about Rs 900 to play with, one refused parcel and a slightly expensive ad and the order makes nothing. In winter, when ad costs are already rising, we lean towards products with Rs 1,500 or more of room.
These do not have full data on our site yet, so treat them as ideas to research, not proven winners:
Pakistani buyers worry about their electricity bill, and they are right to. If you sell an electric heater or water tap, state the wattage clearly and do not claim it is “zero bill” or “saves 90% electricity”. Those claims bring orders and then refusals, complaints and sometimes account problems with ad platforms. “Heats a small area quickly”, “warms your desk, not the whole house” is honest and still sells.
Pakistan’s winter is short. If you sell in more than one country, the same product can earn money for much longer โ as long as you follow the weather and change the message for each market.
| Market | Cold season | What people buy | Angle that works |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States and Canada | November to March, longer in the north | Heating, warm clothing accessories, car and driveway products | Comfort and safety on long, very cold days |
| United Kingdom | November to March, damp more than freezing | Heated throws, dehumidifiers, draught stoppers, warm home wear | Stay warm without heating the whole house |
| Germany and Austria | November to March, snowy in the south and Alps | Heating accessories, outdoor winter gear, home comfort | Quality and safety; clear technical details |
| France, Italy and Spain | December to February, milder in the south | Home comfort and small heating items, mostly in the north | Cosy evenings at home; local-language product pages |
| India | December to February in the north | Small heaters, warm water solutions, shawls and blankets | Target North India; the south barely needs it |
| UAE and Saudi Arabia | November to March is the pleasant season | Camping, desert trips, outdoor seating, car accessories | Sell the outdoors, not warmth |
| Australia | June to August (December is summer) | Fans, cooling and outdoor products in December | Sell the opposite season |
Energy bills are a real worry in the UK and much of Europe, so “keep warm for less” is a strong angle. It is also where sellers get into trouble. A small heater does not make heating cheaper by magic; it is cheaper only if you heat one small space instead of a whole house. Say exactly that. Vague promises such as “cuts your bill by half” can break advertising rules and invite complaints. Show prices including VAT โ 20% in the UK, France and Austria, 19% in Germany, 22% in Italy and 21% in Spain.
Winter in Canada and the northern US lasts for months, so a winning heated product can sell from November into March. Delivery distances are long, though, and buyers expect tracked shipping and clear return terms. Sales tax in the US depends on the state; in Canada, GST of 5% applies, plus provincial tax or HST in many provinces.
In the UAE and Saudi Arabia the cool months are the best time of year to be outside: camping gear, portable lights, car fridges and outdoor seating sell. In Australia, December is the middle of summer, so the heater stays in storage and fans and cooling products take over. Plan your calendar by hemisphere, not by month name.
Electrical winter products cause more returns across borders than anything else, because plugs and voltage differ. A 230V heater will not work safely on a 120V supply, and the reverse is just as risky. Never sell an electrical item into a market it was not made for.
| Market | Plug types | Voltage |
|---|---|---|
| United States, Canada | A, B | 120V |
| United Kingdom, UAE, Saudi Arabia | G | 230V |
| Germany, Austria, Spain | C, F | 230V |
| France | C, E | 230V |
| Italy | C, F, L | 230V |
| Australia | I | 230V |
| India | D, M (C also common) | 230V |
| Pakistan | C, D (many sockets accept several types) | 230V |
Also check the safety marks a market expects โ for example the UKCA or CE marking in the UK and EU โ and ask your supplier for the documents before you list the product.

Winter adds two COD problems: fog delays deliveries, and the cold snap that made someone order can be over by the time the parcel arrives. Three habits help:
Test in the first half of November and scale from late November. By late January demand is already falling in most cities.
Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Multan and Quetta for cold-weather products. Karachi responds better to gifting and comfort products than to heaters.
Generally yes, as normal electrical goods, but check with your supplier and courier. Gas appliances and cylinders are a different matter and are best avoided.
Work it out from your costs, not from competitors. After supplier cost and delivery, you need enough left for ads and refused parcels. Every product page on WinScout has a calculator for this.
Only if it has the right plug, carries the safety marking the UK expects and you have the supplier’s documents. Voltage is the same (230V), but plugs and certification are not.
In the UAE and Saudi Arabia, outdoor and camping products for the cool season. In Australia it is summer in December, so fans and cooling products.
Usually from late October or November, and it lasts into March โ much longer than in Pakistan.
