Advertising and Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense, a service provided by Google, to show ads on this website. Please note:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- Other ad vendors and networks certified by Google may also serve ads on this site. You can see and control them through the consent message described below, and learn how Google uses data at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less related to your interests.
Consent and your privacy choices
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: before personalised ads or analytics cookies are used, you will see a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform. You can accept, reject or choose by purpose and by vendor.
- United States: where state privacy laws give you the right to opt out of targeted advertising or the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, you can use the privacy choices message on this site, and we honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where we can detect it. When you opt out, ads are requested in a restricted, non-personalised mode.
- Everywhere: you can change your choice at any time with the “Privacy settings” link in the site footer, through Google’s Ads Settings, or by deleting cookies in your browser.
Analytics
We may use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site — for example which guides are read and which countries visitors come from. We do not use it to identify you. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by refusing analytics cookies in the consent message.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with providers that help us run the site, and only as much as they need:
- Hosting: our web host stores the website and its server logs.
- Google: for advertising (AdSense) and analytics (Google Analytics). Google processes data under its own privacy policy.
- Email: our email provider delivers the messages you send us.
- Authorities: when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of users.
We do not share your contact-form messages with suppliers or anyone else for marketing. If a message is really a question for a supplier (for example about an order), we will tell you who to contact instead of passing it on.
International transfers
Our providers, including Google, may process information in countries other than the one you live in, such as the United States or member states of the EU. Where data protection law requires it, these transfers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep information
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Contact-form messages | Up to 24 months after our last reply, then deleted |
| Server logs | Usually up to 30 days, longer only to investigate a security problem |
| Cookies | As listed in our Cookie Policy; Google’s advertising cookies usually last up to 13 months |
| Analytics data | Kept in Google Analytics for up to 14 months |
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- ask us to delete it;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect use before you withdrew);
- opt out of targeted advertising and the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (several US states, including California);
- complain to your data protection authority — for example a supervisory authority in the EU, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK, the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) in Saudi Arabia, or the UAE Data Office.
These rights come from laws such as the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act and other US state laws, Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law and the UAE’s Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021. To make a request, use our contact page and choose “Privacy request”. We will reply within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires. We may ask for information to confirm the request is genuine. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
Children
This website is for adults running or planning online businesses. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We protect information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on our admin area, regular updates and backups. No website can be completely secure, so please do not send us anything you would not want to share.
Links to other websites
Our product pages and guides link to suppliers, marketplaces and other websites. Their privacy practices are their own. Please read their policies before you give them any information.
Beware of impersonation
We never ask for passwords, card numbers, bank details or payment through WhatsApp, email or social media. If someone claiming to be WinScout AI asks for these, do not reply and let us know through the contact page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The “last updated” date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will also show a notice on the site.
